When Transformers kicked off a new movie franchise in 2007, director Michael Bay demonstrated that he had a tremendous appetite for cinematic destruction. Initially revolving around a teenage boy, the epic battles between alien robots proved to be tremendously popular with audiences worldwide and has spawned three sequels so far, with more sequels and spin-offs on their way to the big screen.
The next installment in the series will be Transformers: The Last Knight. We know that Mark Wahlberg will star once again as mechanic Cade Yeager, alongside returning cast members Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson. New cast members include Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael (shown below on the set of the movie about two weeks ago), Laura Haddock, Santiago Cabrera and Anthony Hopkins.
What will they be doing?
Plot details have not yet been revealed and images shared through official social media images have not been very forthcoming, although some of them have been quite cool. Now we have evidence that the movie will feature more of the vehicular mayhem that we’ve come to expect from the series. (See top photo.) In addition, we have visual confirmation that director Bay will once again be blowing up a lot of stuff.
We also like this shot of Bay in action on the set, surrounded by crew members.
The official site shared a video of actress Isabela Moner sliding down the floor of a wrecked subway car, as well as an exterior view of an extensive amount of damage.
Transformers: The Last Knight will open in theaters on June 23, 2017.
